Diary Of a Wimpy Kid : Rodrick Rules,
is the second book in the Thin Boy's Diary series. In it still tells
about the life of Greg Heffley, a middle school boy and his family, Mom, Dad,
his younger brother Manny,
and his older brother Rodrick.
Mom felt proud
of herself for having managed
to force Greg to write her life experiences in a book with a diary cover,
but Greg preferred
to call it a journal, last
year. And now Mom is buying it again. Rodrick knew Greg had another journal. Rodrick managed to find Greg's old
journal, and it was a total disaster. When it was summer, Greg's
family never went anywhere or did anything
cool. And that's
why Greg really
hoped to be back
in school soon. Mom and Dad send Greg and Rodrick to a nursing home where his grandfather is. There Greg was bullied by
Rodrick, and Greg experienced a very embarrassing story.
When starting
a new school year at school, Greg is determined to forget all the embarrassing events
that happened, especially the ones he wanted to keep a secret. At a talent
show, Rodrick and his band (Löded Diper) performed, he
asked Greg to record his performance especially when Rodrick was playing single drums. But Greg flatly refused Rodrick. Mom was forced to record Rodrick's performance to the end. But while Rodrick
was playing drums,
the camera was shaken
so badly that he couldn't see anything. Then Rodrick turned to Greg. He says
it's all Greg's fault,
because if he'd done his bidding, all this trouble
wouldn't have happened. But a few hours
later Rodrick said "the secret is out". Rodrick knew all the events
that Greg wanted to keep under wraps.
The next day
everyone at Greg's school found out about the story. He was sure Rodrick would be exaggerating the facts to make the
story sound worse. So while on summer vacation at his grandfather's nursing home, Greg got bored and he ended up
writing in his journal. But quickly Rodrick took the book and Greg managed to get the book back. Then he went into the restroom
and tore up the pages of the book. When Greg was about to go out, he saw
a woman standing in front of the
mirror doing her makeup. At first he thought she was lost in the men's room,
but finally Greg realized that he was in the women's room. So, the original story,
